The ‘barns’ at Budds are converted farm buildings grouped around the old yard. We have four properties -- two with one bedroom and two for four guests. As well as the yard, each cottage has use of a lawned area with garden furniture.

Additionally, there is a communal utility room (known as Wren) equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, books, maps, leaflets, Wellington boots and many other things that have proved useful to previous guests.

Our 1-Bedroomed Barns

The old stable is a two-storey building with stone walls to the ground floor with a former hay store above, walled in cob. Adjoining the stable was a single-storey open-fronted barn, originally used to hold the farm's wagons. These buildings now are two spacious one bedroomed holiday cottages, called The Stable and The Carthouse.

Our 2-Bedroomed Barns

On the opposite side of the old yard to the farmhouse, there is a stone barn that used to be a shippon and tallet , together with a single-storey bullock house. This building has been converted to provide two 2-bedroomed holiday cottages. We have called these Swallow Barn and Wagtail Barn, remembering some of their former inhabitants

The Stable
The front door of The Stable opens into a small entrance hall, off which is the dining area and fitted kitchen with electric cooker, fridge-freezer and microwave.

To the right of the hall is a cozy sitting room with an Edwardian suite, colour television, and radio/CD player.

Stairs lead from the dining area to the open-beamed first floor where you will find a delightful airy bedroom with a king size bed and pine furniture.

Across the landing there is a spacious bathroom including a corner bath with shower fixture, WC and basin

The Carthouse
has a spacious feel with open plan living accommodation on one floor. The sitting room has wonderful views over the rolling countryside.

The entrance door leads into the main room that combines sitting room and dining area, all comfortably furnished to our high standard.

The fitted kitchen is along the front of the barn, facing into the old yard. The equipment includes an electric cooker, fridge-freezer and microwave.

Leading from the sitting room is the separate double bedroom with an en-suite of a basin, WC, and electric shower.

This property is also more suited to our less able guests

Swallow Barn
The entrance to Swallow Barn is away from the yard and most the windows look out across the valley, providing stunning views towards Marhamchurch and as far north as Cleeve radio station near Kilkhampton.

The entrance door leads into the kitchen-diner where we have retained many original features in our conversion. The fixtures include an electric cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer.

The spacious sitting room leads off the kitchen, and is comfortably furnished, including a television and radio/CD player.

From the dining area, stairs lead to the first floor. The bathroom has a basin, WC and bath with shower fixture.

The two bedrooms both have double beds and wardrobes, all in pine

Wagtail Barn
is the second of our two bedroomed properties and has different feel to it -- the windows generally look into the old yard, but the views enjoyed from Swallow can still be appreciated from the kitchen/dining room and landing windows!

The front door leads to a small entrance hall, off which is the downstairs shower room with WC and basin.

The sitting room has a three-piece suite, television, radio/CD player and occasional furniture.

Two steps from the sitting room lead to the kitchen-diner. This is equipped with electric cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. There is a 'back' door into a secluded lawned area

Upstairs, from the entrance hall, one bedroom has a double bed; the other, two singles. Both rooms have pine wardrobes
