Enborne Street Farm comprises two self-contained buildings – The Barn House and The Cottage. Each has English Tourist Board 4 Star grading and is warm, comfortable, self catering accommodation set in a rural area about 5 miles from the centre of Newbury.
Newbury is an ideal place for a touring holiday with Bath, Winchester, The Cotswolds, Windsor, Oxford, Stonehenge and Portsmouth all about a 1 hour drive away. There are hourly trains to London with a journey time of just under an hour, or it is an easy drive by car along the M4 motorway which is about 10 minutes away.
There are many excellent Village pubs within a 10 minute drive and one within 15 minutes walk. Also in the area are many restaurants, wine bars and country pubs serving good food.
The Barn House is a beautifully converted 17th Century barn in a delightfully peaceful countryside setting on a working farm surrounded by wonderful views.
The accommodation on the ground floor consists of a large sitting/dining room, bathroom with WC and fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms, one with 5ft double bed and one with 2 single beds. There is also a large shower room and WC. It is all beautifully decorated and maintains all the character and charm of a brick barn with oak beams, while including elegant furnishings, under-floor heating, double glazing and a log burner in the sitting room.

There is a tennis court available for use by arrangement with the owners who live in the farmhouse through an archway from the courtyard that the Barn House is set in. Guests are welcome to walk on the farm and there are grass tracks around the fields and some grass pastures to walk in. The farm is all grass for the flock of sheep and although children are welcome they are not allowed around the working barns as farm machinery is dangerous. One pet may be brought but only with prior permission.
The Cottage is situated on a working farm about 5 miles from the centre of Newbury and is in a peaceful rural position with outstanding views across open countryside.
Newbury is about 1 hour’s drive from London and 1 hour’s drive from Bath, Bristol, the Cotswolds, Oxford, Windsor, Stonehenge, the Solent and Winchester. It is in an ideal position to base a touring holiday from but is not suitable as a base without a car as there is no local public transport. Newbury station is 5 miles away and there is an almost hourly direct service to London which takes under the hour. All eastbound trains stop at Reading which is about 15 minutes journey.
Accommodation consists of a kitchen/sitting room with a log burner and the kitchen has all new equipment including dish washer, ceramic topped cooker, microwave, washing machine and tumble drier.
There is another sitting room with TV. Also downstairs a separate WC.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms – one with a 5 foot double bed, one with 2 single 2ft. 6in. beds and one with a single 3 foot bed. All bed linen and towels included. There is a bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.
There is central heating and double glazing throughout. Logs are provided for the log burner in the sitting room.
The Cottage has its own garden and parking area with an outside patio with table and chairs.
There is a tennis court available for use by arrangement with the owners who live in the farmhouse across the lane and guests are welcome to walk on the farm although unsupervised children are not allowed around the barns as farm machinery is dangerous. One pet may be permitted but only with prior permission. Non smokers are preferred.
