Bedfordshire self catering holiday cottages

Part of the Priory Farm estate, The Dovecote offers friendly, comfortable self-catering accommodation to tourists, holiday- makers, business people and those relocating. Families are very welcome. There are three individual stone and brick built cottages set around a sun trap courtyard which offer a mix of rustic living with a modern twist.

Our cottages are self contained, well equipped and available to let on a weekly basis inclusive of heating, lighting, Wi-Fi access bed linen and towels. The cottages are cosy with gas central-heating; double-glazing and all cottages have a shower.

All the cottages have an open plan living area complete with dining table, kitchen and easy chairs and sofas. There is a freeview TV and DVD player in each cottage. Our modern kitchens provide microwaves, electric cookers, fridge-freezers and dishwashers. There is a communal laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

The courtyard around which the cottages nestle is a pleasant place to sit on a sunny day, sipping a cold drink, surfing the web or reading the paper. Beyond the cottages is a paddock where ball games can be played and this is often visited by rabbits, pheasants and sometimes the occasional muntjac.

Behind the cottages is covered parking for up to six cars. This area is lit for late arrivals and dark winter evenings.

Smoking is not permitted in the cottages but there is a covered area to one side of the courtyard for smokers.

Families are very welcome but we do not accept pets. Cots and high chairs are available on request.

Our weeks run Friday to Friday, Arrival after 16.00 hours and departure by 10.00 hours.

The Dovecote is situated at the edge of the North Bedfordshire village of Harrold and is close to the Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire borders. The river Great Ouse runs along one side of the farm and the local area is very attractive with stone built cottages and ancient churches. Harrold itself has a picturesque village green complete with lock-up and butter market. The country park at the far end of the village offers space to walk and bird watch. After your stroll, there is a cafe offering good lunches and a choice of local pubs.
