Bay Ridge

There are three double bedrooms, the lower one of which opens onto the conservatory where one can enjoy the morning sun over breakfast. More often it is used, with the bed folded away, as a lounge or a spacious dining room. In winter time or on a spring or autumn morning with a fire in the hearth and the view of the sea through the French windows it makes a fine communal space. The bedroom above this we call the studio. The double bed here folds away into the wall to give the option of a spacious single room with a fine view. A child's bed can also be accommodated here with the double, depending on your needs. The room next door is a small single and shares the same impressive view. The third double bedroom, which many people prefer, is more cosily situated. These three rooms are grouped around the landing with the bathroom. Behind, and adjoining the middle room is another single bedroom with a private staircase to the kitchen below. Next door the television and dining room is in the middle of the house. There are three lavatories- one in the upstairs bathroom, one in the shower adjoining the back bedroom and the third outside the scullery.

Finally, out of the back door through the scullery, a narrow flight of granite steps run up to the garden which is at rooftop level. From this private little space you can see the Wolf Rock Light flashing on a clear night. Beyond, over a style, there are playing fields with swings and slides. If you are fond of walking, this route takes you over the hill onto Penrose Estate whose woodlands boarder Loe Pool and make such a contrast to the sea driving on the Bar to Gunwalloe. The house has a fine library of books and a collection of old fashioned games for the kids to add to the character of bygone days and far flung lands. There is someone on board all the year round to keep the place dry and warm, and it is fully supplied with bedding and all normal domestic needs. We also do bed and breakfast, or, if you require just one, two or three rooms for a while, I am sure it can be arranged. Since we try to avoid the pressure of a rapid changeover we prefer to negotiate times and days of arrivals and departures individually and adjust prices accordingly.
