Badgers Holt is located amongst beautiful South Hams countryside in a small hamlet 6 kilometres north of Kingsbridge, between the villages of Loddiswell and Aveton Gifford. From the house there are superb panoramic views across the valley, at the base of which is a stream which is a tributary of the River Avon.

The house was formerly a barn and has been tastefully converted with extensive use of exposed wood and reclaimed materials. The accommodation and decor have been designed with much flair and imagination.

The house will comfortably accommodate eight people plus a baby (possibly two families) in three bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and cot. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and bedroom 3 has two single beds. In addition, there are two single folding beds which can be set up in either of the two second floor bedrooms. The double beds are of the German style, having individual mattresses and duvets. Bed linen and towels will be provided.

There is a large, comfortable sitting room on the first floor. On the ground floor, the kitchen extends to the dining room from which French windows lead out to the patio and lawn which overlook the valley.

The house is equipped to a high standard and includes washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, television (with German satellite channels), video recorder, coffee machine, patio furniture and barbecue. There is ample parking.

Pets are not allowed and smoking is not permitted within the house.

Naturally protected from the Atlantic, the 342 square miles of the South Hams of South Devon enjoy one of the mildest climates in the whole of Britain. The name ‘Hamme’ is an old English word meaning an enclosed or sheltered place.
This most southerly point of Devon ensures the very early arrival of spring, with long summers, warm autumns and mild winters, so you can safely choose to visit any time of year.
The area is one of exceptional beauty and contrast—river estuaries, rolling hills and thatched cottages surround the lovely old towns that make up the South Hams.

The most popular activities are sailing, fishing, horse riding, golf, bird watching and of course walking. Miles of coastal path allow magnificent views over cliff tops, around sheltered coves and across sandy beaches. Explore Dartmoor with its strange landscape of bracken and heather, looming tors and ancient hut circles. There are organized coastal, countryside and Dartmoor walks and self-guided trails throughout the area.
