Albion Cottage
Albion House, our home, is an old Tudor and Georgian farm house on the edge of
Mylor village. We have made the 300 year old stables, in which the village
doctor kept his horses, into a
cottage called "Little Albion".
Description
The front door opens into a comfortable sitting room and dining area with
fireplace and wood burning stove. Logs are available from the farm. There is a
television/ video, telephone, CD player and leather furniture. Situated off the
living room is the second bedroom with twin beds and duvets. A well equipped
kitchen/breakfast room, including washing machine,
dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker and espresso maker, has a door leading to
the private courtyard with covered pergola and washing line. It is an ideal area
for evening barbecues. The bathroom has a bath with a shower, a WC and basin.
Stairs lead up to a large double
bedroom with 4'6" sleigh bed with duvet and a wash basin. There are views
over open
countryside. The third twin bedroom is off this room. We can supply additional
fold-away beds. We have a small farm and
garden suitable for picnics and children. There is also a grass tennis court
available by arrangement. There is ample parking for boats and cars.

The Courtyard Apartment
Albion House, our home, is an old Tudor and Georgian house on the edge of Mylor
village. A ship's Captain's home, it was
extended in the 1780s in the days of the Falmouth Packet (mail) ships that left
Falmouth to the outposts of the world.
The Courtyard Apartment is at the back of the house at first floor level. It has views over the garden and extensive views for miles over fields and wooded country. Yet we are close to the sea - the sound of the horns of ships leaving Falmouth can be heard and we are walking distance to the Creeks edge at Restronguet.
The apartment has its own entry
from a small shared courtyard into a hallway and stairs to the first floor.
There is ample parking for cars and boats. There is a separate apartment below
also available to rent. The accommodation comprises a living/dining room with
antiques and comfortable modern furniture, television and video, CD player,
sofa, armchairs and dining table. The kitchen/breakfast room has a breakfast
table that can seat 3, microwave, electric oven, washing machine and dishwasher.
The bathroom is large and light with an electric shower over the bath, basin and
WC. The west facing bedroom has a double bed with duvet made up with Egyptian
cotton sheets. The bedroom and living rooms face south west overlooking the
garden and are bright and open.
You are welcome to use the large garden, orchard and grass
tennis court, playable after good weather. There is a BBQ for your use. We can
also make a boat available by arrangement to explore the creeks and estuary.
Heating is by electric convection heaters, part central heating and night storage heaters all included in the price.

The Area
Mylor lies within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is
perfectly situated for exploring Cornwall, sailing, garden trips, creek walks
and beaches. The village of Mylor Bridge is about a 10 minute walk and has an
excellent village shop, newsagent, post office, butcher and fish shop (open when
not fishing).
Sailing, Maritime and
Beaches
Mylor Yacht Harbour and Restronguet Sailing Club have been extensively upgraded
and offer cafes, shops and all boating facilities, including boat hire and
sailing school. We are close to the National Maritime Museum and Royal Cornwall
Yacht Club at Falmouth. We are well placed to explore the surf beaches of the
north coast and the quiet south coast beaches and creeks
Gardens and Walking
Holidays
The stunning Eden Project and many wonderful private and National Trust gardens,
including Glendurgan, Trebah, Trelissick, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and
Lamorran are close at hand.
Footpaths from the cottage are plentiful and the 13th Century Pandora Inn can be reached by a 30 minute walk on a scenic creekside path from Little Albion. Add the beauty of the Cornwall Coastal Path, the wilderness of the moors and picturesque villages; it is a wonderful place for a holiday.
Arts, Museums and Culture
Cornwall has a rich cultural heritage. We are 40 minutes from the Tate Gallery
at St Ives and close to other art galleries and museums. There are year round
theatre, music and arts events, at venues as diverse as the stunning waterside
Minack Theatre, churches and Hall for Cornwall .
